This is my personal blog. It is focused on ‘educating the masses’.  My philosophy – and the idea behind this blog – is that no matter  what walk of life you come from, if you are committed and  determined you will achieve your goals.

I write on everything from nutrition, exercise selection, functional  medicine, mind-set, goal setting and occasionally stuff that doesn’t fit neatly into one of these categories.

My Biography

So, here’s a little bit about me. After 4-years on a soccer scholarship at Ashford University in the USA, gaining a degree in Sports Management, I returned to Nottingham in 2011. During my time Stateside, I was fortunate enough to gain valuable experience working part-time at a well-known and established gym company, expanding my fitness knowledge beyond the classroom.

Once back in England, I acted quickly to pursue my passion and get my foot in the door in the UK fitness industry by gaining an appointment as a fitness coach at Virgin Active at their Nottingham location.

After 5 short months working on the gym floor, I was head hunted and ‘promoted’ to become a member of the Personal Training team, a role I enjoyed for a further 7 months.

Although Virgin Active gave me the opportunity to attend industry related presentations, I came to realise that these courses offered relatively little about the art of getting people into shape. At the same time, I was becoming increasingly frustrated with the lack of drive to improve themselves being shown by the other trainers in this commercial gym environment, this translating into disappointing results for their clients almost irrespective of the effort being put in. Others may be happy with average, but that’s just not me.

Then opportunity knocked when I was offered a position at the prestigious M10 Fitness in Nottingham. Under the guidance of M10 owner and director Mark Coles and the rest of the M10 team, my development at a personal trainer has progressed more than I could ever have imagined.

During my first 12-months, I have attended more than 8 courses on a range of fitness and related topics presented by internationally renowned speakers and consider that I have advanced my knowledge by some 6 years. Furthermore, I have daily access to some of the top coaches in the UK, coaches who are just as hungry as I am about fat loss and improving their results with their clients.

I dedicate my life to finding out why people aren’t succeeding with their fat loss journey and what they can do about it, not just the physical but also the nutritional and mental aspects to delivering the desired results.
